POP ROCKS und COLA - POP ROCKS AND COKE

Im Rahmen seiner Lehrveranstaltung "Contemporary Legends" am 16.Oktober 2002 wurde
A. o. Univ. Prof. Dr. Ingo Schneider vom Autor überzeugt, vor versammeltem Auditorium einen Selbstversuch zu wagen:

Das Gerücht besagt, die Kombination des Konsums des Brausezuckers "Pop Rocks" mit einem Cola-Getränk würde zu tödlicher Magenexplosion führen.

A.o. Univ.Prof.Dr. Ingo Schneider überstand den Selbstversuch mit leichten Übelkeitserscheinungen.

Anmerkung: Bei dieser Versuchsanordnung wurde die Rettungskette (im Auditorium) organisiert, ein Notarzt wäre bei heftiger Übelkeit binnen 3 Minuten anwesend gewesen. Die Kombination des Brausepulvers "Pop Rocks" mit "Cola" gilt als 'Contemporary Legend', 'Sage der Gegenwart' (siehe Literaturquellen unten).
Von der Nachahmung solcher auf Gerüchten und Sagen weitergegebener Tipps muß dennoch ausdrücklich gewarnt werden, schwerwiegende Gesundheitsschädigungen sind nicht ausgeschlossen (zb Kosmetika, wie Zahnpasta etc).

VON DER NACHAHMUNG SOLCHER EXPERIMENTE WIRD DRINGEND ABGERATEN!

POP ROCKS AND COKE

During his lecture "Contemporary Legends" on October 16, 2002 A.o. Prof. Dr. Ingo Schneider was persuaded by the author of this website to carry out an experiment on himself in front of the assembled audience:

According to a rumour, the combined consumption of the lemonade powder "Pop Rocks" together with a coke resulted in a deadly explosion of the stomach.

Prof. Dr. Ingo Schneider survived the experiment with a slight feeling of sickness.

note: During the experiment a rescue service was organized among the audience and a doctor on emergency call was available within three minutes in case of serious nausea. The combination of the lemonade powder "Pop Rocks" together with a coke is regarded as a Contemporary Legend (cf. literary sources). Nevertheless, one has to warn people against imitating such suggestions based on rumours and legends since serious health defects can not be excluded (e.g. cosmetics like tooth-paste etc.).

DO NOT IMMITATE SUCH EXPERIMENTS!
